Description

Powerful MPPT solar charge controller from Vicron energy for larger solar installations. With its input voltage of up to 150V and output current of 70A, several solar modules can be connected in series or parallel. Up to 1000W solar power can be operated for a 12V battery system, with 24V or 48V battery systems the connectable solar power doubles or quadruples.

The SmartSolar charge controller even recharges a heavily discharged battery. It can work with a battery voltage of just 0 volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulphated or otherwise damaged.

Integrated Bluetooth function

The wireless solution for setting up, monitoring and updating the SmartSolar charge controller via smartphone or tablet. Use the free Victron Connect app for this.

Ultra-fast maximum power point tracking (MPPT)

By using Ultra fast MPPT technology (maximum power point tracking), the BluePower MPPT solar charge controller series can increase the charging current by up to 30% compared to charge controllers with conventional PWM technology (pulse width modulation) and by up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers. The advantages of a fast MPPT controller are particularly noticeable when the sky is overcast and the light intensity is constantly changing. The optimum operating point of the solar modules also changes constantly due to different factors (module temperature, solar radiation, etc.).  The MPPT controller adapts to this and always works at the optimum operating point of the solar modules, thus supplying the maximum energy to the batteries.

Advanced maximum power point detection with partial shading

In the case of partial shading, there may be two or more maximum power points (MPP) on the current-voltage curve. Conventional MPPTs tend to adjust to a local MPP. However, this may not be the optimum MPP. The innovative algorithm of the BlueSolar device will always maximise the energy yield by adjusting to the optimum MPP.

Excellent efficiency

No cooling fan. Maximum efficiency of over 99 %. Full output current up to 40 °C (104°F).

Flexible charging algorithms for all common battery types

Fully programmable charging algorithm and eight pre-programmed algorithms, the voltage profiles for the different battery types can be selected via a rotary knob (lead-acid, AGM, GEL, LiFePO4 etc., see manual for more information).

Comprehensive electronic protection

Overheating protection and load reduction at high temperatures. Protection against PV short circuit and PV reverse polarity. PV reverse current protection.

Internal temperature sensor and optional external battery voltage and temperature measurement via Bluetooth

With a Smart Battery Sense, a BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor or a SmartShunt, the voltage and temperature of the battery (and current, in the case of a BMV-712 or a SmartShunt) can be transmitted to one or more SmartSolar charge controllers.

Synchronised parallel charging with Bluetooth

Up to 10 devices can be synchronised via Bluetooth.

Recovery function for fully discharged batteries

Will initiate charging even if the battery has been discharged to zero volts. Is reconnected to a fully discharged lithium-ion battery with internal disconnect function.

Remote-controlled switching on and off

For example, for connection to a VE.BUS BMS. Alternatively, the MPPT controller can optionally be remotely controlled via a VE.Direct non-inverting cable (ASS030550300) for switching on/off. The HIGH input state (Vi > 8 V) switches the controller on and the LOW input state (Vi < 2 V, or free floating (open circuit)) switches it off.

VE.Direct connection

For a wired data connection with a Colour Control GX, Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX or other GX products, a PC or other devices.

Programmable relay

Can be programmed (e.g. with a smartphone) to trigger an alarm or other events.

LED displays

Three LEDs on the device indicate the operating status and any error codes (see manual for explanation).

Optional: plug-in LCD display

Simply remove the rubber seal that protects the plug on the front of the controller and plug in the display.

1a) If more PV current is connected, the controller limits the input power
