The new Lithium NG (Next Generation) battery from Victron Energy is a lithium iron phosphate battery (LiFePO4 or LFP) with a nominal voltage of 25.6V and a capacity of 300Ah. It is the safest and most common type of lithium battery and is the preferred choice for demanding applications. It can be connected in series as well as in parallel so that even large battery banks can be put together. The maximum number of batteries in a system is 50, resulting in a maximum energy storage of up to 384kWh in a 24V System. The battery has an integrated balancing, temperature and voltage control system (BTV), which must be connected to an external Victron battery management system (currently Lynx Smart BMS NG 500A / 1000A, other models to follow) and purchased separately.

The Victron lithium batteries are characterised by their high energy density, long service life and low weight, making them an efficient and reliable energy source. They are therefore ideal for use on boats, in expedition vehicles, in workshop vans and as home storage for your own solar system. They can also be used in industrial applications to secure the power supply when important technical devices such as computers or monitoring systems need to be protected from a power failure.

Integrated cell equalisation, temperature and voltage control system (BTV)

The BTV monitors each individual battery cell, balances the cell voltages and communicates with the downstream battery management system. By controlling and monitoring each individual cell, the efficiency of the battery is optimised in the most precise way.

Integrated shunt

The battery data (battery voltage, current and temperature) is transmitted to the BMS and evaluated there, e.g. to calculate the state of charge, which can then be read out via VictronConnect or an Victron GX communication centre, or to create and issue specific warnings and alarms.


Automatic setup, monitoring and control via VictronConnect or an Victron GX device and the VRM Portal

The BMS automatically manages all battery parameters. It recognises the system voltage and the number of batteries in parallel, series and series/parallel connections. The BMS is mandatory and must be purchased separately. The Lynx Smart BMS NG 500A and the Lynx Smart BMS NG 1000A arecurrently available and are monitored and controlled via VictronConnect (each BMS model has Bluetooth), an Victron GX communication centre or the VRM portal. This allows you to check battery parameters such as cell status, battery voltages, current and temperatures in real time. The firmware of the Victron NG battery is automatically updated by the BMS.


Simple mounting bracket installation

Mounting brackets facilitate installation and ensure that the battery is optimally secured against slipping and tipping over. Optionally, the batteries can also be secured with straps.

Increased ingress protection (IP65 classification)

The Victron Lithium NG batteries are effectively sealed against dust and can withstand a low-pressure water jet, making them suitable for environments where dust and water could be a problem.


Low self-discharge rate

The self-discharge rate has been significantly improved in the new Victron NG batteries and is now a maximum of 2% of the battery capacity per month. A low self-discharge rate contributes to the overall performance, longevity and reliability of the NG batteries.
